ORIGINAL REPORT: GLEN COVE — The Glen Cove Police is asking for the local public’s assistance in locating missing 73 year old Leonardo Barros out of the Glen Cove, New York area.
Leonardo has been missing since Wednesday, July 19, 2017.
Leonardo, a priest who serves as a deacon at a Glen Cove church, has been reported missing by the church administration. he wanted to travel into New York City to see a church somewhere near the World Trade Center on Wednesday, police say. He was dropped off at the Glen Cove bus stop by a member of the church at 10 a.m. He has not been seen or heard from since. Barros has not been answering his phone, which is unusual because he always informs church colleagues of his plans and rarely leaves his rectory apartment for overnight trips. Police believe he may be in a confused mental state.
Leonardo is described as:
• GENDER: Male.
• ETHNICITY: White.
• HAIR: Grey.
• EYES: Brown.
• HEIGHT: 5 feet 3 inches.
• OTHER: Grey mustache and half beard.
